What we agree to do for you
Where you have appointed us to act as your insurance broker, in relation to the Golfers Policy, we will:
1. Understanding your insurance needs - seek sufficient information from you in order to understand your insurance requirements but only in relation to the Golfers Policy.
2. Explaining the policy terms, conditions and exclusions - if requested, help you with any queries you may have regarding the terms, conditions and exclusions of cover.
3. Security of insurers - only use insurers whom we consider to provide adequate financial security. We cannot guarantee the solvency of those insurers with whom we do business but, if requested, we will do all that we reasonably can to provide additional information on their financial position.
4. Accepting a quote - if you accept a quotation provided by us, seek to arrange cover as soon as reasonably practicable. We will also provide you with confirmation of cover in writing as soon as possible. In the event that any mid term changes are required then we will help you with these as part of
our standard service.
5. Premium - hold any payment we receive from you on behalf of the insurer with whom we arrange your policy, as their agent. This means that any payment you make to us will be regarded as having been paid to the insurer.
6. Charges - apply a £5 administration fee to each policy.
7. Policy documentation - check and forward insurer's policy documentation to you as soon as possible subject to you having paid the premium.
8. Claims - in the event of a claim under the Golfers Policy, provide you with guidance and support in dealing with the insurers.
9. Renewal - notify to you when your policy falls due for renewal and provide terms.
10. Privacy/Confidentiality - ensure all information provided to us will be treated in confidence and will only be disclosed to third parties where this is required for the performance of our services or where required by law.
11. Data Protection Act 1998 - where we are storing electronic personal data, use this only for the purposes of:
• Providing requested services to you including the arranging of insurance
• Marketing other services to you, if appropriate
• Promise not to pass your details to a third party other than to place your insurance or assist the settlement of any claim.
What you agree to do for us
1. Providing information
Provide us with full details of information requested on the proposal form (where required) together with details of any material facts that might affect insurers’ assessment of the risk. (Whilst we can offer guidance, it is only you that can provide the necessary information. We cannot stress too strongly the need for full disclosure since failure to do so could severely prejudice your position in the event of a claim).
2. Payment of the premium
You agree to pay the premium and Insurance Premium Tax by the due date.
3. Notifying claims
You will notify us of any claims or incidents likely to give rise to a claim as soon as possible.
4. Claims handling
Co-operate with us and insurers in the handling of claims in accordance with the policy terms and conditions.
